2019 Official Rules Rules of Survival Global Series North America

Starless Depot III

1. Ranked Qualifier Registration

1.1 Initial Client Registration

1.1.1 Initial sign-up must be completed through the Rules of Survival in-game registration feature in the Contests menu.

1.1.2 Registration begins on Friday, March 14th and ends on Thursday, March 20th (GMT-7).




1.2 Full Roster Registration

1.2.1 Participants must sign up as a team of 4 members and assign a team captain.

1.2.2 A team may additionally be owned by a company, managing team or person.

1.2.3 Using a player who was not a part of the 4 members that signed up through the in-game client registration will result in disqualification.

1.2.4 No changes to the team roster can be made during the tournament.

1.2.5 Participants are only allowed to join 1 team throughout the tournament.

 

1.3 Team naming rules.

1.3.1 Team names must be 2 to 12 characters.

1.3.2 Team names may only use a combination of the following characters:

Lower case English alphabet: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Upper case English alphabet: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Arabic Numerals: 1234567890

1.3.3 Subscript and Superscript characters are forbidden.

- Subscript is the ‘1’ in: X1

- Superscript is the ‘2’in: Y2

 

1.4 Team code rules.

1.4.1 Teams should have a team code and this code will be a unique short identification tool for the teams.

1.4.2 This code must be close to or affiliated with the team’s name or brand. If a code does not accurately reflect either of these requirements the RGS committee will request the teams to make a change.

1.4.3 Failure to submit or amend a team code in time will result in the RGS committee assigning one for the team. Penalties apply to players who do not have their team code in their name.

1.4.4 Team codes may only use a combination of the following characters:

Lower case English alphabet: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Upper case English alphabet: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Arabic Numerals: 1234567890

1.4. Subscript and Superscript characters are forbidden.

1.5 Player name rules.

1.5.1 Player names must be between 2-12 characters long.

1.5.2 Players names must be prefixed with their team tags

- Example: C9 Jack, TSM Tom, NIP Quick.

1.5.3 Player names may only use a combination of the following characters:

Lower case English alphabet: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Upper case English alphabet: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Arabic Numerals: 1234567890

1.5.4 Subscript and Superscript characters are forbidden.

- Subscript is the ‘1’ in: X1

- Superscript is the ‘2’in: Y2

1.5.5 Players must not change their name during the duration of the tournament.

 

1.6 Penalties

1.6.1 Player names that do not meet the requirements will not be allowed in the lobby.

1.6.2 Player could not change name during the tournament.

1.6.3 Our games will start on time. If the players do not have the right name in place they will be removed from the lobby.

 

1.7 Eligibility

1.7.1 Participants must be at least 16 years of age on March 20th 2019 to participate.

1.7.2 The team leader must be legal resident of their country and region.

1.7.3 No employees of NetEase Interactive Entertainment Limited, other associated companies, and their respective parents, subsidiaries or affiliates should participate the tournament.

1.7.4 Failure to meet the aforesaid age and residency requirements will result in disqualification of the entire team. Any prize money won will be forfeited.

1.8 Provided Information

1.8.1 The information you submit for registration will only be used for contact, examination of eligibility, administration affairs and identity verification.

1.8.2 For any purposes related to payment fulfillment and further identity verification, The RGS Official Committee will contact the team captain through official channels to collect further information, (Such as bank account details and Identification documents).


 

1.9 Email Registration

1.9.1 Ensure all the information entered for the registration is correct, especially team leader’s email address.

1.9.2 Providing a valid email address is crucial as it will act as the main contact channel between the team captain and the RGS Official committee.

1.9.3 Whitelist the official email address ros_esports@service.netease.com to the list of safe senders.

1.9.4 A confirmation email will be sent to team leader once the registration is complete.

 

1.10 Team Ownership.

1.10.1 Each participating team can only be owned by 1 unique company, managing team or person. This MUST be disclosed during the registration process.

1.10.2 Teams are not to have common shareholder to avoid conflict of interests and other potential problems.

1.10.3 Teams that are not owned by a company, managing team or person will default ownership to their team captains.

 

1.11 Withdrawal

1.11.1 Team may withdraw at any time of the competition by contacting RGS Official Committee via ros_esports@service.netease.com. Please note a confirmation email of withdrawal will be sent to team leader accordingly.

1.11.2 Teams must withdraw before the announcement of the qualified teams. Failure to do so will result as a player being marked as ‘played’ and thus no longer eligible to join other teams in the competition.


2. Ranked Qualification

2.1 Qualification Roster Requirements

2.1.1 The Original 4 players registered through the in-game client registration feature are the only players who will be able to obtain Audition Points during the qualification stage.

2.1.2 No substitutes can be used during this stage.

 

2.2 Ranked Qualification Dates

2.3.1 Audition Points can only be obtained on 12:00PM-12:00AM (GMT-7) of March 23rd and March 24th.

 

2.3 Audition Points

2.2.1 Audition Points calculation per match:

(Ranked Score + Kill Score) x Ranked Multiplier of your team.

2.2.2 Audition Points can only be obtained in the Squad Ranked game on Ghillie Island using TPS mode.

2.2.3 Audition Points can only be obtained if the Squad consists of all 4 previously registered players.

2.2.4 Only the highest Ranked Points from the best 2 matches on each day.


2.4 Tier Coefficient

2.4.1 An individuals Ranked Multiplier is based on your tier at the time registration ends.

2.4.2 The ROS mobile ranked leaderboard will be used to determine ever team’s final placement at the time registration ends.

2.4.3 Below is a table that shows how an individual’s Ranked Multiplier is calculated.



2.4.4 A teams Ranked Multiplier is the average of all individuals Ranked Multipliers.

2.4.5 Example 1:
- Team A has 3 GrandMasters and 1 Diamond Player.

- Ranked Multiplier: (1.52 + 1.52 + 1.52 + 1.33) ÷ 4 = 1.47

2.4.6 Example 2:
- Team B has 3 GrandMasters and 1 Silver Player.

- Ranked Multiplier: (1.52 + 1.52 + 1.52 + 1) = 1.39


3. Group Stage

Week 1

Week 2

3.1 Team Qualification

3.1.1 32 Teams will advance from the Ranked Qualification.

3.1.2 RGS may invite up to 4 teams directly to the Group Stage.

 

3.2 Groups

3.2.1 The 32 Teams will be divided equally and randomly into 4 groups (A,B,C,D)

3.2.2 The invited teams will be divided equally and randomly into the 4 groups.

3.2.3 In the event there are less than 4 invited teams, some groups will have more teams than others.

 

3.3 Games

3.3.1 Each match consists of 3 maps (rounds).


 4. Revive Fight & Finals


Week 3

4.1 Direct Finals Qualification

4.1.1 The top 9 teams from the group stage will advance directly to the grand finals.

 

4.2 Revive fight,

4.2.2 The next top 15 teams will advance to the revive fight.

4.2.2 Teams will play 5 squad matches in the revive fight.

4.2.3 Top 6 will advance to the finals.

 

4.3 Finals

4.3.1 Teams will play 5 squad matches in the finals.

 

4.4 Required Submission

4.4.1  Teams should provide team logo to RGS Official Committee


5. Score

5.1 Score Calculation

5.1.1 Score is calculated by the sum of your total kill points (Kills x 15) and your points based on Team Rank each game.

 

5.2 Ties

5.2.1 The team with the most kills will be granted the higher seed in the event of tied score.

5.2.1 The team with the highest average player survival time will be granted the higher seed in the event of a tied score and tied kills.

 

5.3 Disqualification

5.3.1 If a team does not show or is not eligible to play in a match, the will deducted 100 points.

5.3.2 If a team does not show for 2 games throughout the duration of the tournament they will be disqualified from the tournament.


6. Prize Money

6.1 Total Prize Pool

6.1.1 The total prize pool for this tournament is $40,000 USD

6.1.2 Below is the prize pool break down based on teams placing in the grand finals:



6.2 Eligibility.

6.2.1 Prize money will be sent via wiring transfer,

6.2.2 Team captains, owners or managers must submit correct personal information, bank information and cooperate with RGS Official Committee within the requested time frame

 

6.3 Terms

           6.3.1 Any prize money awarded to participants shall be inclusive of all applicable taxes, VAT, withholding tax, surcharges, bank charges, service fees and any other expenses of similar nature.

6.3.2 The prize money is excepted to be processed within 90 days once the personal and bank information has been received and confirmed by RGS Official Committee.

6.3.3 Participants who are eligible for any prize money are solely responsible for all and all payments from any authorities within jurisdiction in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


6.4 Distribution

6.4.1 Owners, Managers or Team Captains are held solely accountable for distributing the prize money to their fellow team members at their earliest convenience once the wire transfer is complete.


7. World Championship Points 


7.1 WC Point Distribution

 .1.1 The Top 10 teams will be distributed World Championship points based on the above table.

 

8. Device Requirement

8.1 Eligible Devices

8.1.1 Mobile & Tablet devices that can run Rules of Survival mobile without modifications are permitted for use.

8.1.2 RGS Officials reserve the right to prohibit certain devices from pro use.

8.2 Unauthorized Devices and Modifications.

8.2.1 In addition to the rules in 8.1.1, players devices must only receive touch screen inputs.

8.2.2 If participants use any unauthorized devices such as but not limit to a mouse, keyboard, controllers and/or other similar handheld supporting tools to gain unfair advantage, the RGS Official Committee reserves the right to terminate their qualification and such behavior will be seen as forfeit for any prize rewards.

8.2.3 Third party modifications and software that grants an unfair advantage are not permitted. The RGS Official Committee reserves the right to terminate a team’s qualification and forfeit any prize rewards for the use of modified devices or cheating software.

8.2.4 If a single player in the team is found to break and of the rules under section 8, said player will be banned from future RGS competitions indefinitely and the entire team will be disqualified from the tournament.

8.3 Video Evidence.

8.3.1 The RGS Official Committee reserves the right to request, at any time, any player to record tournament play via a webcam or other video recording device, and present to RGS Official Committee relevant footage, in order to ensure competitive integrity.

 

9. Team Restrictions

9.1 A team owner cannot have any stake in more than 1 team in ALL RGS competitions.

9.2 Team names and logos must be unique and must not infringe on existing copyrights or trademarks.

9.3 If a team is sponsored by any third parties, it must be legal and approved by RGS Official Committee prior to team’s acceptance into the tournament. (Group Stage)

9.4 RGS Official Committee has the right to approve or deny team names based on legal or ethical grounds. Players or teams who submit highly unethical or illegal names may be denied entry to the tournament outright. (Such as sexist, racist, vulgar or other discriminatory names.)

9.5 Player or team names can’t be identical to any specific terminology used in games.

 

10. Participant Conduct

10.1 If any participants breach the Rules of Survival User Agreement while in tournament or benefit themselves from using any unauthorized plugins addressed by RGS Official Committee to gain any unfair advantage, RGS Official Committee has the authority to disqualify, suspend, ban that specific player or the entire team. RGS Official Committee has the ultimate say that determines the severity of punishments

 

10.2 No participants or RGS Official Committee should involve themselves, be it directly or indirectly with any form of betting and gambling from Rules of Survival Global Series

 

10.3 The RGS Official Committee reserves the right to deny participation to any team found to be in violation of stated restrictions, or to fine said team a percentage of tournament winnings, or to issue a warning to said team, based on the severity of violations

 

10.4 Teams found to be in violation of stated restrictions must comply with any and all RGS Official Committee rulings and take immediate action to remedy violations in order to continue participation in tournament.

 

11. Bugs and Glitches

11.1 The RGS Official Committee will ensure gameplay stability to best of their ability during competition. However, the risk of encountering unexpected glitches or game crashes may still exist. If any unexpected circumstances occur, RGS Official Committee may reserve the right to perform necessary actions

 

11.2 RGS Official Committee may consider compensating participant with his average or standard score whichever is higher for whoever encountering unexpected glitches or game crashes. Participants are suggested to proactively reach out to RGS Official Committee with supporting evidences at their earliest convenience

 

11.3 Any intended actions of abuse of bugs or glitches will be equally treated as violating Participant Conduct, with malicious intent to gain unfair advantage. (Such as no recoil glitches, climbing in the roofs of houses, seeing through terrain or walls.)

 

11.4 If one-third of all the participating teams or more than 20 players are affected from a match due to glitches or game crashes, RGS Official Committee reserves the right to call a rematch or offer compensation. However, the match must go on if otherwise stated.

 

11.3. RGS Official Committee is responsible of recording and sharing the end results of all match history

 

12. Spirit of the Rules

12.1 All decisions especially with regards to interpretation of any regulations, player eligibility, scheduling, staging of the RGS Official Committee, and penalties for misconduct, lie solely with the RGS Official Committee

 

12.2 The RGS Official committee’s decision with respect to all the rules and regulations cannot be appealed and shall not give rise to any claim for monetary damages or any other legal or equitable remedy

 

12.3 All the given rules and regulations are subjected to modifications at RGS Official Committee’s ease to obtain the best interest of fair play and the integrity of the RGS Official Committee

 

12.4. RGS official committee at all times may act as the necessary authority to preserve the best interests of the Rules of Survival Global Series. This power is not constrained by the lack of any specific languages in this document

 

12.5 RGS Official Committee may use any forms of punitive actions at their disposal against any entity whose conduct is not within the confines of the best interests of the Rules of Survival Global Series

 

12.6 Teams are expected to play at their best at all times and to avoid any behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play

Hello

Are you gonna restart the RGS in North America again?
We participated already in 2 RGS Qualifiers, first in EU and now in NA.

And it is always the same issue: Snipeboosting, Teamups everywhere!!
I hope you see restart the RGS and find a better solution to stop snipeboosting, teamup so that it is fair for everyone.
